Hi, I’m Angela Lopes, MEd,
Founder of Inspired Mindful Growth
I created Inspired Mindful Growth out of a need I saw in my community. I’m here to support the next generation to become mindful, confident and have a more positive outlook on life.
As much as I love teaching, and even though I have a masters of education, I actually haven't worked in the classroom. After teachers college, I was working with the City of Toronto and got a full time position creating programs for people who have disabilities. Being in a supervisory role, I realized I was missing the passion for direct contact with people. With a passion for helping people I entered my journey in Holistic Wellness Practices.
How this started.
During the pandemic, I felt the pressure of doing it all, as I’m sure you did too. Working from home and virtual schooling was stressful. Like all parents, 2020-2021 can be summed up in one word: Burnout.
I asked myself- What am I doing wrong? Why am I not happy?
I love what I do. I love my family. But something needed to change.
This is when I started my journey of mindfulness and self discovery. Being an academic, I completed a Mindfulness Certificate at the University of Toronto which gave me this new insight as to how our brains work.

“Some of the simplest things we say can have such an impact. For example, if you say one cruel thing, it takes five positive things to change the negative impact in your mind.”
I was fully inspired after my mindfulness courses and I knew, as a parent, a teacher, and employee; I wanted to and teach mindfulness in hopes we can pass on mindfulness to future generation.
Children these days are just as impacted by the pandemic as we are.
I see and hear about the external and internal problems our children face on a daily basis: low confidence, negative thoughts, lack of purpose, social anxieties, addictions etc. These same internal and external problems apply to youth and adults as well.
I know I can help people become more positive, confident and resilient. Which is why I got to work creating workshops, programs and seminars.
